2025 Summer Bible Retreat

Teens ranging in age from 14-18 joined together for a day of retreat and service. They began the day with adoration of the Blessed Sacrament where they sat in prayerful silence for 20 minutes. They were able to hear a vocation talk from Brenden, a seminarian from this parish who went to the same high school as many of the teens who were present.

Later John who visited us from East Catholic shared his witness of talking to God in every circumstance as a friend. They made cards for retired priests. They decorated and filled blessing bags to be distributed to the homeless. They did team building activities where they were instructed as a group to build the tallest tower that they can. This reminded them that the key to success is working together, and it is always the best way! They learned about the soon to be canonized saints, Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati.

For lunch they connected over grilled hamburgers, hotdogs and pizza. Later, Alyssa from the Red Cross came and educated them on blood donation. She explained that blood cannot be fabricated, it must only be donated by another human being, and that so many people count on these blood donations to live.

The teens ended the day with the already confirmed, coaching the yet to be confirmed, on the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit. It was a marvelous day rich with prayer, enrichment, and giving back!
